Say Hello to Three Kitties

We love getting new kitties in at The Cat Cafe. For the most part, we only get new cats in when some have been adopted, and that’s why we enjoy it. We had a few adoptions, and that’s why three new kitties joined us at The Cat Cafe.

You’ve met Pocahontas before. What you might not have known is that she had many siblings named after Disney characters. Her sisters are named Ariel, Jasmine, Lady, Elsa and Belle and her brother is named Gaston. We’ve asked if we could have her siblings join her, and that’s exactly what happened.

Meet Elsa and Belle at The Cat Cafe
Elsa and Belle

Elsa and Belle have joined their sister at The Cat Cafe. Like Pocahontas, they are orange tabbies. That makes for a very unusual group of cats, by the way. Around three out of four orange cats are male. In this clowder, there are six female cats and one male cat.

Belle is a little darker than her sisters and she is a talker. She’s also a bit braver than Elsa and you’ll see her roaming the playpen even though it’s only been a short time since she arrived.

Elsa looks a lot like Pocahontas. The way you can tell them apart, for now, is that Elsa has some fur growing back in. Once that happens, you’ll have to look at their faces. Elsa has more white around her mouth than her sisters.

Meet Kelli at The Cat Cafe
Kelli

It wouldn’t do us much good at The Cat Cafe to have Tortie Tuesdays without a cat to show off a little tortitude, and that’s why we’re glad that Kelli has joined us. Kelli is a three year old cat who was transferred to San Diego Humane Society because she had kittens.

After caring for her kittens, she’s looking for someone to care for her. She’s definitely got tortitude, and is not shy about telling the other cats to back off if they get too close to her. With people, though, she’s happy and loving once she gets over her initial shyness.

Come and meet the new arrivals at The Cat Cafe. You might fall in love with one and end up taking them home!

Three New Cats Join The Cat Cafe

Just in time for the weekend, we have three new cats for you to come and interact with. The arrival of these three will take The Cat Cafe up to our full capacity of ten cats. We were able to bring these guys in because Julius and Willow did not spend much time here. They were adopted very quickly!

The group of three kitties joining us here at The Cat Cafe is an interesting group.

Meet Phoenix At The Cat Cafe
Phoenix

The one who has gotten the most comfortable so far is also the oldest one of the group. His name is Phoenix. He’s ten years old, but you’d never know it by his personality. He’s playful and seeks interaction with people. Within ten minutes of arriving at The Cat Cafe, Phoenix was wandering around the playpen like he had been here his whole life. And he’s got a very interesting meow and purr.

We also brought in a black and white cat named Magic. Magic is more shy than Phoenix, but honestly, just about any cat would be. He’s a young adult of two years. And Magic likes to talk. He’s still getting used to his new surroundings, but give him a little time, and he’ll be out and about to talk to you and make you fall in love with him.

Meet Yoda at The Cat Cafe
Yoda

The last kitty who arrived in this group is Yoda. He’s a black domestic longhair who, not surprisingly given his name, is a very zen cat. Yoda enjoys being pet and has been known to cuddle up with his people. At four years, he’s got a lot of love left to give and would love to meet you at The Cat Cafe.

Come on by and meet our new kitties, enjoy some coffee and who knows what might happen. You might fall in love and decide to take one of them home!

A Sunday Trio of Adoptions

Cat adoptions here at The Cat Cafe seem to come in waves. We’ll go a while without any, and then we have a bunch. That is what happened on Sunday. It was a long, but fun day for us. Going home days are the best for our kitties.

Suzy Was Adopted At The Cat Cafe
Suzy

The first adoption happened early in the morning, before The Cat Cafe opened. We had a couple of sisters visit, one who lives here in San Diego and another who was visiting from Boston. The sister who lived here fell in love with Suzy. She went home, and couldn’t stop talking about Suzy. They made the decision to adopt Suzy, and wanted to do it first thing in the morning. And that’s why at 7:30 we had our first adoption of the day.

Lani Was Adopted At The Cat Cafe
Lani

Next up was Lani. The couple who came in to adopt her was originally interested in a different kitty. In what happens a lot, the kitty they came in to adopt wasn’t the right one but they found one who was. That was Lani, and after falling in love with her, the adopting couple came in the next day to take her home.

Mongo was Adopted at The Cat Cafe
Mongo

The last adoption of the day took place for a kitty who just arrived. Mongo didn’t spend much time with us. He only spent two full days with us before he went to his forever home. And only one of these days was spent in the playpen. It didn’t take long for this big boy’s purrs and friendly personality to win someone’s heart. And now, Mongo is no longer only a pawn in the game of life.

All these adoptions made for a busy day at The Cat Cafe, but it’s something that we’re happy to have done. These adoptions bring the total number of adoptions done at The Cat Cafe up to 42 and that is something we’re very proud of.

We’ll have new kitties join us at The Cat Cafe soon but join us in congratulating these kitties on finding their furever homes!

Three New Cats Arrive

Just in time for the weekend, we’ve got three new cats for you to enjoy at The Cat Cafe. It’s an interesting group of kitties and we hope you enjoy meeting them all.

Meet Campbell at The Cat Cafe
Campbell

Campbell was transferred from the San Diego County Department of Animal Services to San Diego Humane Society, and then he found his way to us here at The Cat Cafe. This three year old ginger tabby is a little unusual in that he likes to be held. He actually doesn’t mind being pet vigorously and if you do it just right, he won’t just purr. He’ll drool. Some people may say that’s kind of gross but if you adopt Campbell from us, you’ll learn to see this as a kitty shower of love.

Meet Gus at The Cat Cafe
Gus

Gus is a five year old Maine coon mix who was surrendered because the people who were caring for him said he was too talkative. This brown longhair tabby does like to talk, no question about it. When he arrived at The Cat Cafe, he was talking up a storm, and when he got out of his crate, he didn’t get any more quiet. He’s settling in well, and loves to greet people he likes with head bonks and a friendly meow. If you don’t mind a cat who likes to talk to people he likes, Gus might be a good fit for you.

Meet Mongo at The Cat Cafe
Mongo

We didn’t have any Maine coons here at The Cat Cafe for a while, and now we have two Maine coon mixes. With a name like Mongo, it can’t be a surprise that this grey and white four year old kitty is a big one. Mongo is a gentle giant, who’s a little shy at first, but who will warm up to you if you talk to him and pet him. And once you get him to like you, just like his namesake, he will want to stay with you.

We’d love to see you come visit these guys or to say hello to some of the kitties who have been at The Cat Cafe longer.
